The Northern Express

All who wander are not lost… but they do occasionally get tired!    At this point, we had been on the road for several months since selling our home in Oregon – and the class I was teaching still had several weeks to go.    We really hadn’t even started looking into schools / looking at jobs / etc.  – so we decided a bit of stability might help us relax a bit and start to focus on the long term plan.  We decided to head for the capital city of Wellington and rent a flat.

While not the cheapest way to get from A to B, we decided the Northern Express train was going to be the best option – and it really was fantastic!     It was a fast, comfortable ride through some beautiful countryside and past Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu volcanoes.   A ‘must do’ for anyone visiting NZ!
