Paihia / Bay of Islands
Our next stop was North to Paihia along the Bay of Islands. It was off-season, so relatively quiet while we were there, but stunningly beautiful. Here are a few of the best images from our walk to Waitangi (where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840 – creating the modern nation of New Zealand) and Haruru Falls. It was also our first encounter with several birds including the tuneful Tui.
