Kohukohu
As I was teaching online, it was difficult to be on the move continually… We decided that we needed to stay somewhere stable for at least a week. This worked out because the shuttle to Kohukohu (on the Hokianga Express with Pete Clark) only goes there once a week in the Winter… This was lush & rural New Zealand. A home for the adventuresome and the resourceful – and our wonderful hosts Cherie and David at the Cabin in the Skye were both of those.
Twice that week, we took the (9+km each way) walk into town. Kohukohu itself is a small (<300 pop.) historic and artistic town on the Hokiana Harbour and the art gallery was a real highlight. For us, though, the biggest highlight was simply the land and sky.
