7: Cycles
‘Side One’ closes with an upbeat personal soundtrack for your cycle ride across space & time. It’s a fun and driving loop for those long journeys where the space between you and the pedals disappears. I’ve been playing pieces of this song live for over a year now (in a medley with ‘Only You’ by Yaz) so I’m glad to finally have had a chance to record it and get it right. Perhaps some of the funnest rockin piano/keyboard work I’ve done.
Ironically, and completely coincidentally, the song was released the same week as DaVinci Days – the super cool annual art and science festival in Corvallis. Part of the festival involves a parade and race of custom built over-the-top human powered cycles of all types… It was a perfect synchronicity!
